What is the most important difference among all man-made opals?
“Play-of-color” is the most important feature to differentiate lab-made opal from the other man-made opals as it resembles the beauty of natural precious opal. For example, you may see plastic or glass being claimed as man-made opal. But they do not have any opal’s color effect.
What is the unique feature of lab-grown opal?
Lab-grown opal is the only man-made opal which has vertical fire pattern, the unique growth pattern. For cabochon or sheet product, you can easily observe if there is any columnar structural growth horizontally.
Will lab-grown opal quality change over time?
Lab-grown opal quality will not change over time. Unlike natural opal which may have dehydration or cracking problem. Lab-grown opal is also easier to preserve over time.
